I am not the best at keeping in touch with people on social media and don’t even possess a mobile phone. I am a bit of a recluse, to be honest, happy with my own company and my family’s, so self isolation is not a big thing for me to do. However, for the young people living with myself and Mary it is a big deal and sad to see the world has come to this for planet earth to save itself. On a more positive note I get to spend real quality time with my family and for once the mobile phones are being put away while we have family meetings everyday and really to talk to each other. I am very heartened by how my family is using this time to to help others, like Clara creating a video channel to help parents homeschool their children, we are also providing hypnosis audios free of charge for people to develop a more positive and creative mindset so that they are better able to face the challenges posed. Mary continues to treat clients with Hypnotherapy via Skype for all sorts of issues especially especially anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression and insomnia.
There are many people who are finally taking the spread of this virus seriously and behaving responsibly and on the other extreme there are those who are not. The experts have told us that if you infect another person by ignoring the advice given there is a one in five chance of that person needing medical care that simply will not be there. The more people infected the more demand for hospital beds, hospital staff and emergency equipment which is simply not available. The more time we buy by avoiding getting the infection the better equipped our hospitals can become. The attached article explains clearly the strategies used by other countries to combat the spread of the virus and clearly shows what has worked and what doesn’t.
On a more positive note there have been many people urging governments to take action to reverse the damage done to our planet and told that it was now irreversible and then along comes a virus that halts pollution and all of a sudden the air is cleaner and the waters are again filling with fish.
The mind is a tool we can each use to do great good but left unchecked, an undisciplined mind is like a runaway train that can wreak havoc. We each have the time now to learn how to use the mind rather than it using us, so why not make a start!
When you wake up in the morning you have a chance to set the tone for your day by giving thanks for all that you have. It doesn’t matter how bleak you may perceive your situation you can always find something or someone to give thanks for. This simple act creates miracles in your life and the lives of your family and loved ones. All you have to do is practice feeling grateful every day. What do you have to lose?
Spend 10 minutes every day doing some simple breath work to get your mind under control. The one Mary and I do regularly is the one we call 4-7-8 . Which means lying down in our bed without a pillow and breathing in through the nose for 4 secs then holding for 7 secs before slowly letting out for 8 secs through the mouth. I challenge anyone to remain stressed while doing this simple exercise which is right under your nose!
Reading is another great way to direct your mind. If what you read is inspirational and uplifting that is exactly how you are going to feel. Only read what raises your spirits and avoid anything that depresses them.
If you have a problem call a meeting with family, or friends and practice brainstorming. You will be surprised at how this creative activity can unearth amazing solutions and make you all feel so good in the process.
You are a human being. You are unique. There has never been another like you, ever in the history of this world and there will never ever be another you. Your mind has unlimited potential but only if YOU use it correctly. It is minds like yours that created all the wonders of the world and it is a mind like yours that is going to solve the problems we all now face.
