It is exam time again and my children are busy preparing! My son is doing his AS exams and two of my daughters are doing GCSE exams. They each have their own way of dealing with the stresses involved in preparing for their exams and each has found a way to study that is very much in keeping with their character type.
Motivation from Within
Over the years my wife and I chose to encourage our children to study but deliberately avoided putting them under any pressure to do so. We made ourselves available so they could come to us if they ever needed our help and they only did so when they really were stuck. Our approach placed the responsibility for their success or failure firmly on their own shoulders and this made them find their own inner source of motivation rather than looking for it outside themselves.
The Art of Self Hypnosis
There was one thing that we actively encouraged and which we feel was a very important ingredient in their success to date and that is the art of self hypnosis. We taught each of our children how to hypnotise themselves from a very early age and this proved to be an invaluable tool.
By learning how to achieve this relaxed state of mind they learned how to silence the monkey mind and develop powers of concentration that are rare in many children today. Visitors would comment on how our children could sit through a whole movie with subtitles while theirs were unable to sit still for even a few minutes. This was just a natural consequence of self hypnosis which our children now just take for granted and see as perfectly normal.
Hypnosis for Children at Bedtime
I, also, created an audio program which they played going to sleep at night when they were very young and which helped them sleep soundly and awake every morning feeling wonderful. The audio program was designed to counteract all the negative messages our children received during the course of anyone’s normal waking day and which we all just take for granted.
We have grown numb to hearing and seeing things that once may have upset us. The images we see on TV and the suggestions we are bombarded with through advertising and the the media are the same messages our children are exposed to. Then there are well meaning people in our children’s lives, including ourselves who unwittingly say things that they could easily accept and which could affect them negatively at the subconscious level.
Following is a link to the audio called Hypnosis for Children at Bedtime by Xavier Nathan and which can be downloaded from the Downloads Pageof our website. In the state of hypnosis positive suggestions that are given to the child go directly to the subconscious where they are accepted and automatically activated and this is the main reason why the audio is so effective.
Learn your Multiplication Tables in your Sleep
Another audio program I created specifically for my children and which I made commercially available for download from our website Downloads Page is: Learn your Multiplication Tables in Your Sleep by Xavier Nathan
While my children were attending Primary School there was not the same emphasison rote of learning tables as in previous years and I could see this as a problem in later years. To solve this problem I created an audio for them which taught them their tables while they slept. None of my children have ever had any problems in this area as a result whereas I meet students every day in High School who still need a calculator to calculate what comes second nature to my children.
I went on to develop a Computer Mathematics Program called Mathematics Tutor to teach my children all the basics of arithmetic which they could practice at home and ensure that they had a solid foundations in the basics. This too is also available for purchase from our website in CD form.
Unleashing the Limitless Power of the Subconscious Mind
The mind is very powerful and we only use a fraction of it. The reason for this is that many people still do not fully realise their potential because they were never taught the art of Self Hypnosis to enlist the support of their subconscious to achieve their goals.
If you are someone wondering why everyone else seems to be having such a great life and nothing ever seems to work out well for you then you are probably feeling down as you read this.
You probably sigh a lot, feel frustrated at work and your relationships with friends and loved ones are strained. You probably also feel tired even after a night’s sleep and find it hard to get up in the morning.
Your body posture is telling the world that you are feeling down and your facial expression betrays how you are feeling inside.
Your inner dialogue is always critical, judgemental and keeps going round in circles. You don’t notice people who pass you in the street or in the corridors at work. You don’t notice the beauty of nature all around you because you are stuck inside your head a slave to a mindset that keeps you where you are.
You probably try to make yourself feel better by eating, drinking, working or spending money. You may feel good for a while but you find that no activity results in any permanent change. Activity will only stop the ruminating for a short period and then you are back again inside your head with the thoughts that bring you down and cause you to feel depressed.
Getting Out Of Your Head
Milton Erickson, a famous Psychiatrist and Hypnotherapist once treated a patient who was suffering with depression by telling him to count the chimney pots on his way home after his hypnotherapy session. The patient did as Milton Erickson instructed and did feel a lot better when he arrived home. This very simple intervention on the part of Erickson was a deliberate technique employed to change the patient’s mind and in so doing change how he felt. Instead of looking down as he normally did he looked up to count the chimney pots. Instead of sitting alone at home ruminating inside his head he was out meeting people and getting good quality exercise.
By forcing his patient to get out of his head and be present he had broken a spell and this is exactly what happens every time we deliberately get out of our heads and engage with the present. It is by being fully in the present unfettered by our depressing ruminations that we regain the power to choose what to think and in doing so we choose how to feel.
Hypnotherapy to reclaim the Power to Choose
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool reclaiming the power to choose what to think and how to feel. By learning how to deliberately suspend the critical chatter that keeps us stuck inside our heads we regain our personal power and self confidence. By regularly practising self hypnosis it becomes easier and easier to take charge of your thoughts and once again become the director of the movie called This is Your Life!
If you would like to know more about the therapy Mary and I provide here at Setanta Hypnotherapy Clinic in Peel, Isle of Man please call us on 842938 to arrange to meet for an informal chat. We also provide a wide range of high quality audio products from our Downloads Page that we have produced for our own clients and which you could use effectively in the comfort of your own home to initiate those changes you desire in your life.
There is nobody in this world more qualified than you to tell you what is best for you. The problem is many of us have lost the power to hear our inner voice of wisdom. We only hear the external sounds that bombard our senses incessantly and listen only to what we have become accustomed to heeding.
Though we may speak the same language we each attach meaning to the words that only we fully understand. We live inside our heads interpreting everything we experience through our five senses and we do this automatically without thinking.
The meanings and interpretations we place on our experiences are based on our past experiences and this is an unconscious process that serves to keep us trapped in the past and in effect only being able to make choices that are governed by what we experienced in our past.
It is the way we are designed in order to survive what was once a very hostile environment. We no longer live in the stone age and though there is little danger of most of us being attacked and eaten by a wild animal when we leave our homes in the morning to go to work there are other more sinister dangers that lie in wait. The dangers I speak of are the ones we make up in our own heads and which are as real as any wild animal our ancestors had to face on a daily basis.
In order for us to overcome these imaginary fears that exert so much influence over our lives we each need to deliberately practice spending more time outside of our heads and more time living in the present moment appreciating the experience of now as separate from and unique to any experience we have ever had. This is called becoming a child again and this is what Jesus meant when he said : “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Hypnosisis a way to practice disengaging yourself from beliefs based on your past experiences and which gives you the opportunity to entertain new ways of perceiving yourself, others and the world you inhabit. Hypnosis is like a key you can use to release yourself from the prison you create from your past. Hypnosis gives you back the choice to think unhampered by unconscious forces from the past that dominate your present and which prevent you from living the life you consciously desire.
We all experience hypnosis everyday of our lives but it happens naturally and mostly when our minds are in neutral gear like when we are driving, reading a book or watching TV. Most of us are not aware that we can experience hypnosis deliberately and that we can use the feeling of hypnosis to make changes in our lives that we never thought possible.
Daily practising the art of self hypnosis will get you back your inner hearing so that you once again rely on your inner source of wisdom and regain your inner strength and freedom. Become a child again and regain your kingdom using the power of hypnosis.
The mind is split and that is why we sometimes find ourselves talking to ourselves. The internal dialogue we each experience is as a result of the divided mind. One part of the mind sides with the ego and is continuously filling the silence with noise. The noise I refer to is the internal dialogue that keeps us distracted and focussed on what we imagine to be real.
The Internal Critic
The more immersed we become in this internal dialogue the more real our problems and stresses become. The dialogue is a creation of the ego and its sole purpose is to keep us focussed on the unreal which then becomes real to us. The more we can disengage from this idle chatter the more peaceful we become and the closer we feel to our true nature. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool which gives us the ability to, in effect, turn off the noise that keeps us distracted and daily practice brings peace and enjoy into our lives.
The ego needs us to believe in time for its own survival. Without the construct of time the ego cannot exist because we would immediately see through the illusion. The way the ego keeps us believing in time is by making us jump back and forth between past and future never actually allowing us to ever be in the present moment. The ego plays a very clever trick on us and we all fall for it every time. The trick involves getting us to make the association between what has happened in the past and making us equate that with the future. So, in effect, we are conditioned to expect from the future what we have experienced in the past.
Breaking the Cycle
The way to break this cycle is in understanding that it is our focus of attention that attracts our experiences to us. If we continue to place our focus on what has happened in the past then that is exactly what we will attract to us in the future. Using hypnosis to ground ourselves in the present we can sever our false connection to the past and future and choose a different focus for our attention. By learning to place our attention on what we want to experience we eventually attract those very experiences and people to create the future we desire.
A Shift in Awareness
Some people imagine hypnosis as something that a hypnotist does to them and associate it with entertainment . No, hypnosis is simply using any one or more of your five senses to bring us into the present through focussed attention. I regularly do it as I am walking to work and I focus my attention on the beauty of everything I see. By looking for the beauty of everything that is presented to my eyes this creates a shift in awareness that takes me out of my head and the monkey mind ceases its idle chatter. The feeling of well being that accompanies this shift in awareness is unmistakeable.
The Art of Self Hypnosis
All that is required is our willingness to get out of our heads at various times during the day and eventually we will spend more and more time in the present creating the life we desire. It is all right there and all we have to do is simply develop the discipline of mind to bring our attention regularly to it until it manifests.
Mary and I have each created an audio you can download from our Facebook Shop or from the downloads page on our website. The audio is called Introduction to Hypnosis and designed specifically to teach the art of self hypnosis and regularly playing the audio teaches you how to focus the mind so that you can deliberately choose to dwell on the thoughts to attract the life you truly desire.
The biggest problem facing us today is our incorrect perception of ourselves, of others and the world at large.
There is nothing innately wrong with perception because there is actually nothing else we can do given that in order to interact with each other and the world we can only perceive what we observe. The reason for this is that we are dependent on interpreting the information that we receive from our five senses.
Making it up in our Heads
The information we receive from the external world, like light reflected from an object, is converted into electrical impulses which are sent to the brain where they are decoded and an image is created of the object. This all happens in an instant so we imagine that the image we see is the object we are observing outside of us. In fact the image we see and which we attach meaning to is in our own heads.
We automatically assign meaning to things we see in our heads and we pass judgement on people, places, experiences and things normally based on our past experiences with what we observe. Judging and criticising is what we spend most of our waking day doing and it is how we preserve our belief system, self concept and what we believe reality to be.
The Price of Wrong Perception
Most people do not question this state of affairs and are content to accept this but there is a price to pay for such an attitude. Perceiving is not the same as knowing the truth and as long as we hold fast to the notion that our perceptions are reality then we are bound to encounter problems.
Most of the problems we encounter, by believing our illusions to be true, are pain, suffering and disease. It is our reluctance to look past or through the veil of illusion that covers our emotional and spiritual eyes and let go of our wrong perceptions that we invite the pain that we experience.
Stage Hypnosis fuels wrong perception of Hypnosis
In our work as a Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapists my wife Mary and I deal with people who come to us initially to ask us to take away their pain. Most of them are completely oblivious to the idea that it is in fact their erroneous belief system that is causing the problem and it only when they choose to change their minds that any progress can be made.
Most come under the illusion that we are some kind of magicians that will whisk away their problems while they are “under”!
This is not their fault however because most of them have formed their preconceived ideas about Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy based on stage shows by entertainers who wish to give the impression that they are controlling the people on stage. This in fact could not be further from the truth. Nobody controls you when you are in hypnosis. In fact you are more in control of your self in hypnosis than at any other time in your life primarily because in hypnosis you are free to consider ideas that you would normally never entertain.
Hypnosis to Facilitate Change
During your normal waking day you judge whatever you hear and see based on what you believe to be reality. So if your reality is that you are suffering from a serious illness then you are not going to accept any ideas that suggest anything that goes against this belief in your illness. As long as your belief system protects your illness there will be no change. Doesn’t it make sense therefore that in order to address the illness you have to suspend your judgement in order to entertain an alternative belief about your health?
Hypnosis enables you to suspend your judgement to the degree that you can entertain alternative perceptions some of which may ideally even contradict the notion of your illness. By learning how to hypnotise yourself you are taking responsibility for how you decide to perceive reality and you are free to choose how you wish to perceive your problem.
“ Life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself.” was a message shared by a friend on FaceBook and though I like the message it is easier said than done. Unless people are equipped with the tools and resources to change, they find it difficult to do so. I am going further with this article and proposing how each person can equip themselves with the necessary tools to affect the change they desire. Learning the art of Self-Hypnosis is a way to equip ourselves with the necessary resource to at least entertain the idea of change.
Learning Self-Hypnosis
Mary and I both run our own Private Hypno-Psychotherapy Clinic here in Peel, Isle of Man and before we begin any therapy with anyone who seeks our help we first require them to purchase and download from our website an audio we have have developed that teaches them how to hypnotise themselves. The audio costs £29.99 one is with my voice and the other with Mary’s depending on whether the person prefers to be treated by a male or female therapist. We ask them to put the audio on their iPod or MP3 player and play it at least once a day for a week to ten days before starting therapy. When they come to us to start treatment they are already in charge of their own recovery and we are facilitators in the psychotherapeutic process that effectively leads them to correct their self concept.

Video by Xavier and Mary Nathan explaining Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy:
In this current economic climate many people find themselves working under very stressful conditions. The number of better educated people who find themselves unemployed is rising daily so those who are lucky enough to have jobs are under tremendous pressure to stay employed, sometimes at huge physical and mental cost.
Most jobs offer further training and education and encourage employees to rise within the company. Many have to regularly make presentations in front of colleagues and business associates. Sometimes employees have to fly and have a flying phobia, all of these situations can add stress and anxiety. Many people think nothing of working 10 hour days and their work life often eats into their weekends, leaving them mentally tuned into work for long periods of time and leaving them absent mentally during family time.
Of course, people cannot give up work or even refuse to take on board further training but what they can do is when they are at work perform to their full potential and when they come home they switch off completely. Separation between work and home life is paramount for mental and physical health.
Hypnotherapy can and has helped relieve stress, handle anxiety, rid phobias, confidently hold presentations and allow each employee to perform better at work and live life to the full with their families.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
To deal with anxiety or stress you learn relaxation techniques to let go of muscle tension and arousal in the body. Self-hypnosis is taught to each client to deepen those feelings of relaxation ad confidence. The client practises self-hypnosis daily which trains the mind and body to remain calm and relaxed in what were stressful situations in the past.
During sessions the client looks at the negative thoughts that are currently felt and these are corrected both in and out of hypnosis.
Each client is given a Personalised CD complete with positive changes to listen to each night and this reinforces the work carried out in the clinic. The normally stressful situations are rehearsed with new feelings and pictures of client, looking poised and confident, feeling relaxed and calm and in control.
How many Sessions?
The first session is information gathering, during which all of the feelings and symptoms are looked at, changes the client wishes to make are addressed and self-hypnosis is taught.
The second session is Suggestion Therapy, during which the client is completely relaxed, the suggestions s/he has asked for are given and the client leaves feeling calm and confident. Each client leaves this session with their own Personalised CD which has been made during the previous week.
The third session looks at changes achieved since the beginning of therapy and a booster confidence and relaxation to ensure that the positive changes are permanent rather than a temporary fix.
Following is a video that shows how stress lowers a person’s tolerance threshold:
Over the past number of years I have worked very successfully with older people covering a range of conditions including insomnia, pain relief, depression, skin disorders, tinnitus, terminal cancer and anxiety, to mention but a few. Some of these clients were too incapacitated to come to Setanta Hypnotherapy Clinic in Peel so home visits were arranged.
Hypnosis
First of all let me talk a little about hypnosis and who can or cannot be hypnotised. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation, during hypnosis we allow our conscious mind to relax so that our subconscious mind comes forward and when this happens we can do some wonderful healing and life changing work. There are only two types of people who cannot be hypnotised; those who are severely mentally incapacitated and those who choose not to be hypnotised. The first type really are people who cannot respond to instructions however this may not always be the case with people who suffer age related conditions.
Success Stories
One of the oldest people I worked with was a lady in her nineties who was very deaf, had lost much of her memory and was suffering from insomnia. This lady’s family contacted me from overseas to see if I could help her to sleep as she hadn’t slept for nine weeks. I paid her a visit in her nursing home and although she was very deaf I saw immediately that she was exhausted and in need of help. That first visit was strange in that it was the first time I shouted at someone to Relax! In fact, this lady responded very well to touch and although she could not hear every word I said it was my touch on her hand and the tone of my voice which allowed her to go into hypnosis almost immediately. The next visit saw me better prepared as I took my hypno-equipment with me including headphones so that she could easily hear every word I said. Like all my clients this lady received her personalised CD which she listened to every night when she put her light out at 10pm. From that night forward her routine changed, she slept for longer each night until she was sleeping five hours per night which given her age and the fact she dozed in her armchair during the day she, her family and I were very pleased with these results.
Another client I treated was for fear of choking when swallowing her tablets. This client had to take oral medication in the form of large tablets every day at a certain time. She called me to enquire if I could help and as with all people who are interested in our therapies I invited her in for a Free Initial Consultation. She was very agitated and anxious about taking such large tables which could not be halved or broken into smaller pieces. After eliciting information and explaining the therapy we embarked on a very successful course of therapy which not only alleviated the fear and anxiety but also helped her with pain management.
Sometimes older people have fears and anxiety about the approach of death and may be unable or unwilling to talk to their family about this. Relaxation techniques are easily learned and once put into practise clients are free to enjoy the remaining time however long or short that may be.
Age Doesn’t Matter When It Comes To Healing
I have spoken about older people who may be suffering from either emotional or physical conditions which may be greatly relieved by hypnotherapy but there are many people out there who at this stage in their lives realise that there are changes they wish to make, changes for the better allowing them to really be themselves . For them hypnotherapy is like a new journey of discovery! Who is this person who behaves and reacts in the same way to the same situations? Why is this happening over and over again? For these clients who come to our clinic we suggest Analytical Hypnotherapy and together we embark on an inner journey where I am merely the guide and the client is following their route to freedom. You know it doesn’t matter what age freedom is achieved, even if it is only for a few months or many years the feeling of discovering the real you without conditioning or limitations from the past is wonderful. Both Xavier and I have worked with many, many older people over the years who in their last years just want to experience and enjoy this freedom. Their self esteem and self confidence grows because they become the person they really always wanted to be.
Society Needs Your Experience And Wisdom
Older people, like younger people, have their worries and insecurities but unlike younger people they tend to be less willing to open up about these to others. Spouses, family members and friends may have died and so loneliness may make them very isolated and vulnerable. With the aid of hypnotherapy life can be made meaningful once again and that person who felt “passed it” can once again take their rightful place in community life.
Inspirational Video to Show that it is Never too Late
A phobia is an irrational fear of something which, in fact, poses very little danger to the sufferer. He or she knows that this fear is illogical but is unable to control the panic and anxiety which when confronted with the phobia is completely overwhelming. The panic and terror is automatic and often prevents people from doing ordinary things they would love to do.The most common phobias are:
• Fear of spiders
• Fear of flying
• Fear of needles
• Fear of dogs
• Fear of public speaking
• Fear of illness
• Fear of enclosed spaces
• Fear of open spaces
• Fear of heights
This is just a brief list of the most common cases we have treated at Setanta Hypnotherapy Clinic but in reality people could and do have phobias about anything.
What is the difference between a normal fear and a phobia?
Fear is a useful tool to have because it protects us from/in dangerous situations. It is an adaptive human response and is there for protective purposes … bring our “fight-or-flight” response into play when needed. For example, it is normal to feel fear if facing a wild tiger, but should the same fear be experienced when facing a domestic cat? For a person suffering from a cat phobia the same rush of anxiety and fear would catapult them into an immediate state of panic which to a cat lover seems totally irrational or bizarre.

Common Phobia signs and symptoms:
• Palpitations and pounding of heart and increased heart beat
• Dizziness, feeling faint
• Trembling body
• Sweating
• Nausea
• Fear of losing control
• Throat closing up
• Loud noises in ears
Some people suffer from a couple of these symptoms and others suffer them all and more!
How can Hypnotherapy help with phobias?
Most clients who visit our clinic have phobias which can be successfully treated with three sessions of Suggestion Therapy.
The First Session is Information Gathering, during this session I ask many questions about the client’s background, the history of the phobia and the changes the client wishes to make in his/her life. The client learns Self-hypnosis during this 2 hour session and this starts the client on the road to freedom!
The Second Session is a Suggestion Therapy Session during which the client is guided into a state of hypnosis and positive life changing suggestions are given. The hypnotic state, which is simply a state of relaxation during which the analytical mind is relaxed and the subconscious mind comes to the fore, allows the client to readily accept the positive suggestions for change which s/he has already stated in the first session. This therapy is about empowerment … allowing the client take responsibility for their own life, thoughts feelings and behaviour.
From the information I gather in the first session I make a personalised CD for each client. This CD is of benefit only to the person it has been made for because it contains positive suggestions relating to what the client specifically stated in session one. This CD is given to the client at the end of the second session and I request that the client take responsibility for playing this every night for a minimum of 90 nights.
The Third Session may contain any or some of the following techniques: Fast Phobia Cure, Pin Point Analysis, Traumatic Incident Reduction, The Swish Technique and or Healing the Inner Child. This session depends of the individual client and what they present in session.
A phobia is by its very nature debilitating and may limit a person hugely, restricting job promotion, travel, social life and many other aspects of life. Sometimes there is an emotional root cause that needs to be looked at before the phobia is cured. If this is the case then Analytical Hypnotherapy is the route we would promote. An example of this may be Tokophobia , (to mention just one )… which is a fear of pregnancy and/or giving birth. If there is an emotional root cause it would be like putting a plaster on an infected wound without cleaning it to do Suggestion Therapy alone. Analytical Therapy requires a minimum of 12 sessions, for more information please look at our webpage explaining the difference between both therapies.
Hypnotherapy lends itself very well to the treatment of phobias in people of all ages. All it takes is the client choosing to embrace positive changes in his or her life and trusting that all will go well.
Hypnosis for Life Video from YouTube
Following is a video created by Clinical Hypnotherapists Xavier and Mary Nathan who both own and run their own private hypnotherapy practice in Peel, in the Isle of Man; Setanta Hypnotherapy Clinic. The video explains explains hypnosis and the role it plays in the therapy they provide.
Our physical well being is a reflection of our emotional and spiritual well being. Our physical appearance is a creation of mind that is an indication of what is going on inside of us. If the island you can see is the physical aspect of who you are then the ocean all around you represents your emotional and spiritual aspects. As you sit on the island beach looking out over the horizon you are consciously oblivious to that other world beneath the waves. This is how it is with each one of us as we go about our daily activities oblivious to the forces within, that control everything we think, say and do.
Inner Conflict Sabotages our Efforts to Change
If you are over weight then chances are you don’t feel good about it. If you do feel good about being overweight then you are not overweight and you should stop reading this article. Feeling bad about any aspect of yourself is an indication of inner conflict and you are sabotaging every effort you exert to make the changes you know you want. The secret to making any change is in overcoming the dynamic of mind that resists change.
Knowing what you want and feeling what you want are two very separate experiences, the dynamic of which, many people fail to understand. Though everybody realises at some stage in their lives that there are times when they cannot get themselves to do what they want to do, they still keep trying anyway. How many people do you know who have tried to lose weight by cutting down on the amount they eat and exercising more only to keep failing miserably? How many times have you given up on diets and exercise regimes that you simply could not stick to? Every time you fail at something you lose a little more self confidence which makes it harder the next time you try.
If you feel overweight then you are thinking about yourself in a certain way. The way you are thinking about yourself is definitely not the way slim people think about themselves. Here already evident is the dynamic between thought and feeling. The feeling creates the atmosphere for the kind of thinking that it generates and the thinking creates more of these same feelings until you are trapped inside a cycle of thoughts and feelings that attract people and circumstances to create even more of the same thoughts and feelings. The thinking directs your energy and that is why you find yourself thinking more frequently and more intensely about food than someone who does not feel as you do about yourself. The point here is the importance of the interaction between thought and feeling that many people fail to realise.
Change Your Mind if You Want to Change
In order to make any change in your life you must first create the change in your mind. The mind commands and the body obeys. The only trouble with this is the mind is sending conflicting commands so no change ever occurs. Your first and most important task is to create in your mind the change that you want for yourself.
To lose weight you will need to change the thoughts and feelings you have toward yourself to thoughts and feelings you would have about yourself if you were thinner.
So how do you change your mind? The answer is very simple and lies in a feeling called Hypnosis.
Hypnosis is the Key
Hypnosis is a feeling everyone naturally experiences but few know how to achieve deliberately. It is unfortunate that most people associate hypnosis with the antics of stage hypnotists and so never take the feeling seriously as a means to make lasting changes in their lives. Hypnosis is a feeling anyone can learn to achieve deliberately and for that reason I created an audio that does just that. By regularly playing the audio you eventually learn to experience the feeling of hypnosis and in becoming familiar with the feeling your mind automatically learns how to get it back every time you choose to experience the feeling.
In order to lose weight the first step is to teach yourself how to achieve the feeling of hypnosis. Once you can do that you are in a position to change the thoughts and feelings you feel toward yourself to the the thoughts and feelings of a thinner human being. You then wake up every morning feeling so appreciative of being you because you start noticing changes immediately. You realise how powerful your mind is and for the first time in a very long time you start to say what you really think and you start to do what you say. In other words your mind and heart start to work as one. So when you say that will not longer eat certain kinds of bread, or that you will never again use oil to cook then you know you won’t. Doubt will no longer exist.
It becomes easy then to follow my final instructions for you to lose the weight you want in the time frame you choose. I suggest 30lbs in 90 days but that is not a hard and fast rule. You choose but it is important that the mindset is correct before you begin.
Download the audio “Introduction to Hypnosis” and put it on your iPod or MP3 player. You could burn it to CD if you wish. Play the audio “Introduction to Hypnosis” every day for at least 2 weeks before following my final instructions. Some people play it every night in bed before falling asleep others find time during the day or even before getting up in the morning. Do what suits you but it is a very crucial element for success in this method.
Final Instructions to Losing 30lbs in 90 Days:
Part 1
For a period of 3 days eat only meat and fish. No bread, no rice no vegetables, no pasta , no sugar, no alcohol, no cereals, no chocolate, no salt, and definitely no oil or butter.
Eat a small bowl of porridge in the morning for breakfast and change to a sugar substitute like Splenda if you need to sweeten it.
If you get peckish you can eat slices of ham or chicken. You can also eat fat free cottage cheese and fat free yoghurt whenever you feel hungry.
To cook meat I suggest you slice onions and use these slices of onions as a bed to fry the meat on but no oil.
Drink plenty of water but no fizzy or sugar based drinks.
You can also eat boiled eggs but no salt.
Part 2
Having eaten as I have suggested above for three days. You will notice some major changes physically, emotionally and mentally. Your thoughts and feelings are in line with your desires and your life takes on a whole new meaning. What started off as losing weight becomes much more than that and you feel great. You realise how easy it is to lose weight and to stop eating and drinking those things that prevented you from feeling as good as you feel from not putting them in your body for three days. You are now ready to embark on a completely new style of life. Certain foods and drinks now simply repulse you and you know you will never eat or drink them again. Following is a plan you now find easy to follow and you continue to play the audio throughout the 90 days program.
For the 90 days you eat three meals a day. You have a choice of porridge or eggs in the morning. Meat or fish for lunch and again meat, eggs or fish for dinner. You can eat as much sliced ham, chicken and cottage cheese or yoghurt in between meals but will find yourself doing less of that as time goes on. Weigh yourself at the end of every week and take your measurements to see the progress you are making. It is very important to maintain this high protein diet for at least 50 days. After that you can start introducing vegetables, and fruit into your diet. Wholemeal brown bread can also be introduced but never more than 2 slices of wholemeal brown bread per day.
You will find that you have more energy for exercise and I highly recommend some easy Yoga type stretches and postures in the morning followed by a few minutes of meditation or silent sitting.
Walking is the best exercise and I highly recommend a daily routine of walking brusquely for between 30 minutes to an hour.

The Middle Way
There is no need to overdo anything. You are now finding the “middle way” advocated by Buddha. You are now experiencing a life of moderation and you feel happier and more alive than you have ever been.
This is a 90 day journey that prepares you for the more important journey of your life without all that extra baggage, physically represented by the weight you are carrying and emotionally by the heavy heart you carry around full of regret, past failures and apathy. Having taken the time to purify yourself physically you have also triggered an emotional and spiritual response that propels you positively into the rest of a very bright future for yourself and everyone you touch.
