How to Lose 30 Lbs in 90 Days

The Body is a Metaphor

Our physical well being is a reflection of our emotional and spiritual well being. Our physical appearance is a creation of mind that is an indication of what is going on inside of us. If the island you can see is the physical aspect of who you are then the ocean all around you represents your emotional and spiritual aspects. As you sit on the island beach looking out over the horizon you are consciously oblivious to that other world beneath the waves. This is how it is with each one of us as we go about our daily activities oblivious to the forces within, that control everything we think, say and do.

Inner Conflict Sabotages our Efforts to Change

If you are over weight then chances are you don’t feel good about it. If you do feel good about being overweight then you are not overweight and you should stop reading this article. Feeling bad about any aspect of yourself is an indication of inner conflict and you are sabotaging every effort you exert to make the changes you know you want. The secret to making any change is in overcoming the dynamic of mind that resists change.

Knowing what you want and feeling what you want are two very separate experiences, the dynamic of which, many people fail to understand. Though everybody realises at some stage in their lives that there are times when they cannot get themselves to do what they want to do, they still keep trying anyway. How many people do you know who have tried to lose weight by cutting down on the amount they eat and exercising more only to keep failing miserably? How many times have you given up on diets and exercise regimes that you simply could not stick to? Every time you fail at something you lose a little more self confidence which makes it harder the next time you try.

If you feel overweight then you are thinking about yourself in a certain way. The way you are thinking about yourself is definitely not the way slim people think about themselves. Here already evident is the dynamic between thought and feeling. The feeling creates the atmosphere for the kind of thinking that it generates and the thinking creates more of these same feelings until you are trapped inside a cycle of thoughts and feelings that attract people and circumstances to create even more of the same thoughts and feelings. The thinking directs your energy and that is why you find yourself thinking more frequently and more intensely about food than someone who does not feel as you do about yourself. The point here is the importance of the interaction between thought and feeling that many people fail to realise.

Change Your Mind if You Want to Change

In order to make any change in your life you must first create the change in your mind. The mind commands and the body obeys. The only trouble with this is the mind is sending conflicting commands so no change ever occurs. Your first and most important task is to create in your mind the change that you want for yourself.

To lose weight you will need to change the thoughts and feelings you have toward yourself to thoughts and feelings you would have about yourself if you were thinner.

So how do you change your mind? The answer is very simple and lies in a feeling called Hypnosis.

Hypnosis is the Key

Hypnosis is a feeling everyone naturally experiences but few know how to achieve deliberately. It is unfortunate that most people associate hypnosis with the antics of stage hypnotists and so never take the feeling seriously as a means to make lasting changes in their lives. Hypnosis is a feeling anyone can learn to achieve deliberately and for that reason I created an audio that does just that. By regularly playing the audio you eventually learn to experience the feeling of hypnosis and in becoming familiar with the feeling your mind automatically learns how to get it back every time you choose to experience the feeling.

In order to lose weight the first step is to teach yourself how to achieve the feeling of hypnosis. Once you can do that you are in a position to change the thoughts and feelings you feel toward yourself to the the thoughts and feelings of a thinner human being. You then wake up every morning feeling so appreciative of being you because you start noticing changes immediately. You realise how powerful your mind is and for the first time in a very long time you start to say what you really think and you start to do what you say. In other words your mind and heart start to work as one. So when you say that will not longer eat certain kinds of bread, or that you will never again use oil to cook then you know you won’t. Doubt will no longer exist.

It becomes easy then to follow my final instructions for you to lose the weight you want in the time frame you choose. I suggest 30lbs in 90 days but that is not a hard and fast rule. You choose but it is important that the mindset is correct before you begin.

Download the audio “Introduction to Hypnosis” and put it on your iPod or MP3 player. You could burn it to CD if you wish. Play the audio “Introduction to Hypnosis” every day for at least 2 weeks before following my final instructions. Some people play it every night in bed before falling asleep others find time during the day or even before getting up in the morning. Do what suits you but it is a very crucial element for success in this method.

Final Instructions to Losing 30lbs in 90 Days:

Part 1

  1. For a period of 3 days eat only meat and fish. No bread, no rice no vegetables, no pasta , no sugar, no alcohol, no cereals, no chocolate, no salt, and definitely no oil or butter.
  2. Eat a small bowl of porridge in the morning for breakfast and change to a sugar substitute like Splenda if you need to sweeten it.
  3. If you get peckish you can eat slices of ham or chicken. You can also eat fat free cottage cheese and fat free yoghurt whenever you feel hungry.
  4. To cook meat I suggest you slice onions and use these slices of onions as a bed to fry the meat on but no oil.
  5. Drink plenty of water but no fizzy or sugar based drinks.
  6. You can also eat boiled eggs but no salt.

Part 2

Having eaten as I have suggested above for three days. You will notice some major changes physically, emotionally and mentally. Your thoughts and feelings are in line with your desires and your life takes on a whole new meaning. What started off as losing weight becomes much more than that and you feel great. You realise how easy it is to lose weight and to stop eating and drinking those things that prevented you from feeling as good as you feel from not putting them in your body for three days. You are now ready to embark on a completely new style of life. Certain foods and drinks now simply repulse you and you know you will never eat or drink them again. Following is a plan you now find easy to follow and you continue to play the audio throughout the 90 days program.

For the 90 days you eat three meals a day. You have a choice of porridge or eggs in the morning. Meat or fish for lunch and again meat, eggs or fish for dinner. You can eat as much sliced ham, chicken and cottage cheese or yoghurt in between meals but will find yourself doing less of that as time goes on. Weigh yourself at the end of every week and take your measurements to see the progress you are making. It is very important to maintain this high protein diet for at least 50 days. After that you can start introducing vegetables, and fruit into your diet. Wholemeal brown bread can also be introduced but never more than 2 slices of wholemeal brown bread per day.

You will find that you have more energy for exercise and I highly recommend some easy Yoga type stretches and postures in the morning followed by a few minutes of meditation or silent sitting.

Walking is the best exercise and I highly recommend a daily routine of walking brusquely for between 30 minutes to an hour.

The Middle Way

There is no need to overdo anything. You are now finding the “middle way” advocated by Buddha. You are now experiencing a life of moderation and you feel happier and more alive than you have ever been.

This is a 90 day journey that prepares you for the more important journey of your life without all that extra baggage, physically represented by the weight you are carrying and emotionally by the heavy heart you carry around full of regret, past failures and apathy. Having taken the time to purify yourself physically you have also triggered an emotional and spiritual response that propels you positively into the rest of a very bright future for yourself and everyone you touch.

Bon Voyage!

Mind Mine of Thought

In my last post I reiterated the basis for the principle of how we create our reality. I explained that by directing thought we can deliberately affect our feelings and it is these feelings that create our reality.

Many people get hung up on this idea and I get lots of questions about it. Most of the questions have got to do with the idea that people do not want to believe that they have been responsible for everything that they have attracted, the good and the bad. They don’t mind accepting responsibility for the good but they refuse point blank to accept any responsibility for the bad.

I am asked if  the Native American Indians conjured up their own genocide by dreaming up smallpox and European cavalry. My reply to that  is the Native American Indian will have felt many emotions and their minds would have most certainly been preoccupied with thoughts of the white eye overrunning their land. This focus of thought would have affected their emotions and how they felt and so they created a reality they experienced as a group.

Goyakla the Apache, or Geronimo as he was later commonly known, however created a different reality for himself and his followers for a long time. His feelings of anger and thoughts of invincibility fuelled his reality until he chose to allow his mind to be hijacked and futility fuelled his decision to surrender and be captured. The Native American Indians did not consciously set out to create their own destruction nor do people deliberately set out to get cancer but the Native American Indian did and we do get cancer. As long as man insists on being a victim and choosing to place his trust in a driver he imagines is driving the bus called life the dynamic of how destruction and disease works will continue to elude him.

How we direct our thought is only part of the equation and by itself is a frustrating exercise in mind control. Although I emphasise the fact that I am not condoning force or the any kind I still get people telling me that they loved what I wrote but find it exhausting trying to root out all their negative thoughts and forcing themselves to be positive always ends up in frustration.

It is like telling me that you ran into a dark room with a torch and did battle with darkness. You shone the torch everywhere and cut through the darkness but it persisted and no matter how hard you tried to defeat the darkness it remained everywhere your torch did not shine. Darkness disappears when you tun on the light in the room. There is no battle or force involved. There is no room for darkness when you turn on the light in the room. By doing battle with thoughts that you do not want you evoke feelings that simply fuel those same thoughts so you sabotage your own efforts from the start.  Why stand outside the room hating the darkness?  Go in and turn on the light. Observe the thought as you would anything outside of yourself. The thought  is not you, it is separate from you and it survives by you identifying with it. Observe it with the curiosity like a child who picks up a caterpillar to look at it and then leave it down and move your attention to where you want it to go.

Like someone who has just stopped smoking or drinking or eating chocolate. You decided to stop but the thoughts of having a cigarette or a drink persist. Every time the thought arises or passes near you, rather than running from it or giving in to it, observe it and simply say something to the effect “oh there you are again.” Create this separateness between you and it and eventually the separateness becomes so wide  it disappears into the horizon. You make it more difficult for yourself when you engage your feelings and that is why I say suspend your feelings and view the unwanted thoughts as curiosities and they become strangers.

To make it easier for you to practise the art of separating yourself from thought that would otherwise sabotage your happiness I have created a 10 minutes Morning Meditation that you can download for free from my website and put on your iPod or MP3 player. Following is a link to an article I wrote under the name Spirit Whisperer on HubPages. I explain by way of my own personal experience, how our limiting beliefs can sabotage  our efforts to achieve what we truly desire and how I overcame these same limiting beliefs.

Mind Body Dynamic

Mind Fullness

It is the subconscious not the conscious mind that is the creative force in our lives. Most people however are oblivious to the fact that they are constantly creating the lives that they lead. They are imagining themselves separate from everyone and everything around them. They even imagine that there is some force outside of them that has created it all and everything that they experience. They imagine themselves like aliens who have been dropped onto this planet and life is something that happens to them while they are here.

We spend most of our daily lives absent from the present. We are preoccupied with thoughts that hijack our attention and we spend most of our lives in a kind of sleep while we are awake. A good example of this is when a child seeks his father’s attention while  the father is involved in a conversation that has consumed all of his attention. The father talks to the child and says things like “go and play with your friends” or “ask your mother” or “don’t worry everything will be fine, don’t worry about it” or words like this to deflect the child so the father can carry on being somewhere else. This is an example of being absent and we do this all of the time but mostly to ourselves. We are actually absent for most of our lives so the life we imagine as happening to us happens while we are somewhere else unless of course the happening is catastrophic enough to force us to be present like when we get word that our child has been killed in a car accident or the specialist tells you that the tumour he found in your body is malignant or when your wife tells she no longer loves you and she is leaving you.

Most of the thoughts we think amount to nothing and are like monkeys in a tree jumping noisily from branch to branch. Then there are those that hijack the mind and we find ourselves consumed by them. They evoke emotions in us that affect our mood and impact on us physically. We somehow are unaware of this process maybe because it happens so regularly we have come to accept this way of being as the norm and that it has nothing to do with what is happening to us in our lives.

In fact our thoughts have everything to do with what is happening in our lives. The thoughts we allow to consume our attention and which then go on to affect how we feel are responsible for what those feelings then attract into our lives. Our emotions are the attractive force that pulls into our world everyone and everything that reflects those same feelings and emotions. Sadness sucks sadness out of everyone and everything around us so we can experience even more sadness. Anger creates chaos around us igniting the most ordinary situation into a volcanic eruption with the lava consuming everyone and everything in its wake drawing even more anger and chaos to us. We are the ones doing the thinking so we are the ones creating the feelings that cause havoc in our lives and we are the ones who then beat ourselves up when we get what we continue to dwell upon most of the time…conflict, criticism, anger, resentment, poverty, disappointment and the list goes on. We attract people and circumstances to give us more of the same because that is what our feelings draw to us like a magnet and the cycle continues.

The thought you dwell upon is your order to the Amazon.com of the Universe and once you place that order you can be certain that it will arrive unless you cancel it before it gets to the delivery stage. I must emphasise here again that though the thought is ultimately responsible for what you get, the thought is the gun you point and unless you pull the trigger the bullet is not released. It is your emotions and feelings that pull the trigger. If you can cancel the thought before it affects your feelings then you are in effect cancelling the order before it gets to the delivery stage.

You could decide to take charge of your awareness and choose to be present in your life for more of the time. You could choose to dwell upon thoughts that you know will make you feel happy. You could attend to the destructive thoughts as if they were unwelcome guests in the house of your mind and usher them out politely. You could decide to consume your mind with the present and so much so that there would be no room for those unwelcome visitors to get back in.

Our minds are not randomly captured by thought as I have described. We surrender our minds to certain thought forms out of habit and so we now are not even aware we do it. Using force to replace negative thoughts with positive ones is not what I am suggesting because to do so would actually result in the opposite. By focussing on what you don’t want you are giving what you don’t want the attention that then creates the feeling of fear. Fear is the surest way to attract what you are afraid of.

By exercising our free will to choosing what to think as often as we can we make ourselves feel the way we would like to. It is our feelings not the thoughts that actually create our reality. Our feelings come from the subconscious which is the power behind our lives. Our intellect and the conscious mind can only think about feelings but never feel them. People who over compensate intellectually don’t get this and actually never add the most important ingredient to this mix of creation…feelings.

Understanding the dynamic of how we have been unwittingly using the power of attraction to create what we have in our lives all along why would we now not use this same dynamic to create what we truly want? To do this all we would need to do is choose the thought that we know will make us feel the feelings that will attract what we want. Another way of doing this is to access the subconscious using hypnosis and conjure up the feelings that we then attach to suggestions or thoughts that direct those feelings to create what we want. The key is living fully in the present with awareness and being mindful of what we are thinking now!

Love, Love, Love

The world we live in is created by us.  We choose how we live in the space we occupy.  We choose how we feel in the body we inhabit.  We choose our thoughts,  our opinions and our beliefs.

I have just read a wonderful book called Room by Emma Donoughue.

The book begins in a room which is the only space for 26 year old “Ma” and her son Jack.  “Ma”, the only name we know her by, was kidnapped aged 19 and held for 7 years in a re-enforced shed in the backyard of the kidnapper. Every night he visited her for sex and within a year she gave birth to a daughter who died at birth.  The following year she gave birth to Jack and the story begins on his 5th birthday. From the very beginning I was captivated by the wonderful voice of the narrator, Jack.  His life within that small square room was full, his expectations never rose higher than what could be delivered.  He had a TV and watched some children’s programmes and he had some books but he believed that his room was the world and the rest was make believe.

We all live in a little room like Jack and his “Ma”, it doesn’t matter how large our little room is.  We inhabit a space be that in a large house or a small flat, be that dwelling in a village or countryside or city, be that address be in a large land mast or on a small island, we are all confined in space.  But the challenging part is how we use this space?  I don’t mean how we arrange our furniture but how we arrange our thoughts to make the most of the space we live in.

Jack was happy in his tiny square room with his “Ma”, she created for him a world of love and fun and joy.  What she did not do was fill it with misery and depression.  Yet she knew what was outside those four walls …. freedom.  Never once did the boy suspect that there was a world outside until she needed to for their safety.

So what about us?  As parents do we fill our children’s lives with love and fun and joy or do we fill it with doom and gloom?  Which world to we create for ourselves and our families? The overriding emotion in the book Room is love.  That is what held my attention to the characters, that love between mother and son, a son whose father was the kidnapper. The characters in the novel that attracted me most were those who loved the boy for who he was, just a little 5 year old boy innocent of his father’s sin.

If you want to change the circumstances of your life you must find love in your heart.  This is the most positive force from which all good things come. Love is a choice you make.  Sometimes it is not easy to see through eyes of love, sometimes it is not easy to hear with ears of love but by changing how you perceive things you can choose only love. Start and end the day with love.

First thing every morning when you awaken think of all the people and things you are grateful for: your family, your health, your house, your heat, your shower, your pet, your duvet, your pillow, your car, your friends, etc. etc. Fill your heart with thoughts of love, remember those times when you were happy and allow that feeling to penetrate your body once again.  As you eat breakfast thank the food you eat.  When you are at work and a colleague annoys you silently think of something nice about that person.

Don’t dwell on the negative, negativity breeds negativity.  Love breeds love.  What you send out comes right back to you.  So is it not better to send love and enjoy that feeling being returned to you?
